I ordered Nate’s wedding ring today. I can’t wait to see it. We have been planning like crazy. We’re checking out reception sites right now, and once that is set up we will have our official date! I can’t wait to see it all set in motion.

So far we have the rings, the cake topper, cake knife, wedding colors, honeymoon place, bridal party (although Nate still has to ask 2 of his guys), and our wedding registry. There’s still so much to do, including (but not limited to!) finding my dress, the tuxes, dresses for the bridesmaids, flowers, a photographer, a cake, food, and the reception site!!! Thank God we already have the church since we belong to one. I’m getting a little impatient with planning, and I’ve had some “bridezilla” moments already. Hopefully once the reception contract is drawn up everything will become a little smoother.

I can’t wait until the big day!

Obsessed with Orange

Since we’re having a fall wedding, I thought fall foliage colors would be very nice. Lately I’m obsessed with orange (my new car is evidence). My sister likes red and wants to wear a red dress. SO! Just an update…

Well, I’ve asked all my sisters to be bridesmaids for me, and that makes three. I also have Nate’s sister (and my good friend) Amy in mind, but she’s getting married December 30 (in 10 days) and moving to New Mexico, so she doesn’t know if she’d be able to make it. But she’d better!

Nate hasn’t asked anyone to be a groomsman for him, but I’m sure he’ll get it done before the wedding. And since we are planning a fall wedding, he has plenty of time to think about it.

After all the craziness of the holidays (and the Amy/Stephen wedding), we will be doing a lot more planning. We have to get pictures made, send out engagement notices, decide on colors, pick a reception site, photographer, tuxedo rental place, limo, food, and the list goes on and on… Who knew weddings were so insane? It’s all the little details that make it special that drive the bride insane!

And I’m loving every minute of it.

Neglect

Nathan and I have woefully neglected our wedding plans lately because we’ve been caught up with so many other things swirling around us. Since we got engaged it seems like we have had about 2 minutes to talk about things or spend any time together. The night he proposed, Nate’s grandpa passed away, so our first weekend as an engaged couple was spent traveling to his funeral. Then my uncle passed away on Thanksgiving so I took a 5-day trip down to Arkansas to attend his funeral and see my family and friends down south. This weekend we are going to the wedding of a friend of mine from college (I’m excited to go to other weddings because I get so much inspiration from them!). Hopefully things will calm down towards the beginning of 2007 and we can really get into planning this thing.
